One day, as I strolled the aisles of my class during snack time, I caught a smell that tickled my senses and made my mouth water. I stopped dead in my tracks and looked down at the student who was nibbling away on some dusty looking apple slices. Upon further investigation, I found out that her mom always slices her apples, sprinkles them with cinnamon and then squeezes lemon juice all over them. The next day I came with my own special apple snack and am I ever glad I did. It has been in my lunch bag 2 - 3 times per week ever since. I took this snack with me when I went skiing with the school and shared it with the staff. One teacher said, "It's like apple crisp!" and another said, "Yum, like a beavertail." I know this may be a stretch for some, but it is a truly healthy, tasty treat. |
1 - 2 apples of your choice, sliced
cinnamon for shaking all over
a slice of lemon for squeezing
This method is very complicated so try to keep up. Lay out your apple slices. Sprinkle them with cinnamon and then squeeze a healthy dose of lemon all over them. Pack them up for later or eat right away.
